Kim Basinger reminded the world Thursday just why she is considered one of the most beautiful actresses of her generation.

The Oscar winner, 63, looked sensational in a low-cut black gown as she arrived at the premiere for Fifty Shades Darker in Los Angeles.

The stunning blonde plays the business partner and former lover of Jamie Dornan's Christian Grey in the second movie in the erotic trilogy.

It's the most high profile role Basinger has had in several years, since she starred as Eminem's mother in 2002's Eight Mile.

She won a best supporting actress Academy Award for her role in the 1997 film L.A. Confidential.

But she is undoubtedly best remembered for her star turn opposite Mickey Rourke in the steamy 9½ Weeks in 1986.

Basinger, who shares daughter Ireland with ex-husband Alec Baldwin from whom she had an acrimonious divorce, showed off her slim figure in her designer dress.

She added a lilac manicure and chandelier earrings and her signature blonde hair was styled in voluminous waves with a side parting.

Basinger joined the films' stars Dornan and Dakota Johnson at the premiere for the film that opens in North America on February 12.

In the sequel to the 2015 worldwide hit, Dornan's character Christian wrestles with his inner demons while protagonist Anastasia Steele, played by Dakota Johnson, must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her.
