Now THAT'S a flashback! Hollywood hunk Hugh Jackman is unrecognisable as a 12-year-old in his latest throwback snap with brother Ralph

He was named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in 2008.

But Hollywood heartthrob Hugh Jackman had an awkward phase just like everyone else.

The Australian actor, 48, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a throwback snap that showed him with his brother by the beach in 1980.

He's always had good jeans! Hugh Jackman shared a Throwback Thursday photo on Instagram showing him looking far different at the age of twelve, dressed in a pair of high-waisted jeans

'Summer 1980, with my brother Ralph. And yes, I know my jeans WERE the coolest,' Hugh captioned the snap that he shared with his 9.6 million followers.

Hugh was just twelve years old at the time, looking unrecognisable as he squints and smiles into the camera, almost looking a little shy of the lens.

The X-Men star is seen wearing a mint green polo shirt tucked into a tight pair of high waisted blue jeans.

Hugh's brother, Ralph, also wears a very eighties ensemble, pictured in maroon polo and white short shorts.

'So typically Aussie', one follower wrote.  

Eagle-eyed fans noticed the snap was taken at the famous Kiama Blowhole, two hours south of Sydney.

Hugh's arms are noticeably skinny in the snap, a contrast from the bulging biceps he sports as Wolverine. 

The star will return to his famous role as the comic book character in the upcoming film Logan. The blockbuster is set to be released next month, and is reportedly the last time Hugh will portray Wolverine.

It seems the star has a penchant for sharing throwback photos, having recently posted another photo showing him at eighteen, looking much more like he does now.

Meanwhile, the once-lanky Hugh now seems more at home hanging out with fellow Hollywood hunks, having recently shared a photo alongside Pierce Brosnan and Ryan Reynolds- two other men who have also been voted People magazine's Sexiest Man of the Year.

And Hugh is currently filming The Greatest Showman alongside fellow heartthrob Zac Efron.

Father-of-two Hugh has been married for twenty years to fellow Australian Deborra-Lee Furness.
