The duo reprise their Fifty Shades Of Grey roles in the follow-up Fifty Shades Darker, in theaters on February 10. Jamie stars as the title character Christian Grey—a kinky billionaire who seduces college student Anastasia Steele, played by Johnson.

Asked if he became familiar with the sex objects used in the drama, the actor - who is married to Amelia Warner - admitted that he stepped outside of his comfort zone, but ‘surprised’ himself.

'The funny thing is, pretty much everything you find in the red room, you've used a version of, but not for the same effect,' he explained to Ellen.

'Like, it's more for riding a horse or something. Or doing up a bag that's particularly full and if you're using a buckle. That kind of thing. You have the skill set and you kind of surprise yourself. Most of it—I have to admit—I was very green about all that stuff.’
