KOREATOWN COLLECTION

Koreatown Collection: Beauty Blogger and YouTube star, Rae, took inspiration from her grandmother's fondness of pearls, and her love of Los Angeles' Koreatown, for her Motif collection

'Online influencers have created this amazing connection between their community. It's this authentic, personal, intimate interaction between their following and themselves that has never existed before,' says Stuart.

Unlike celebrities who will endorse just about anything, influencer-designed product comes from a very personal place. They want their goods to have the same authenticity as the content on their feeds, and they have their community in mind when creating it.

Designing for Motif is a four stage process that includes mood boards, sketches, 3D designs, 3D prints and samples. 'The social media stars are very involved from beginning to end,' says Senior Designer Anousha Ravazi (who honed her craft working at Mont Blanc, Tiffany & Co. and Birks of Canada).

Beauty Blogger and YouTube star, Rae (pictured above), took inspiration from her grandmother's fondness of pearls, and her love of Los Angeles' Koreatown for her Motif collection.

'It's amazing how each influencer's story is unique and how these stories can trigger very creative pieces,' says Anousha. 'We scour the entire world looking for creators that will bring personality, style and diversity to our range of micro-labels, and every time they inspire us,' says Stuart.

With each collection being limited edition (available for 2-3 months or while supplies last), the product is like nothing else on the market.

Mix-n-match: Incorporating the geometric influences of Koreatown's traditional signage and her grandmother's appreciation of pearls with a little sparkle, the luxury beauty editor and makeup artist's collection is great for everyday wear

 EN POINTE COLLECTION

En Pointe Collection: Melodee Morita x Motif was inspired by the ribbons of ballerina “pointe” shoes and her values of strength, confidence and community when creating her line

Ballerina-turned-Instagram star Melodee Morita took inspiration from dance to create her elegant four piece collection.

'When I was younger, I was extremely shy. I couldn’t raise my hand in class, and I was terrified of public speaking,' said Melodee.

Her mother enrolled her in ballet and that's where she found her inner strength. Today Melodee works as news reporter, a YouTuber and as a professional emcee.

'I hope that my “En Pointe” collection will always remind you of your inner strength and courage, and help you open yourself up to new people and experiences, just like it does for me.'
