Los Angeles rapper, The Game, has been charged with one misdemeanor count each of criminal threats and battery, and one felony count of grand theft. 

The Game, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, plead no contest. 

He has been sentenced to three years of formal probation, 120 hours of community service and 26 anger management counseling sessions.  

Charges came after the 37-year-old was playing basketball on March 29, 2015, when he intentionally fouled an off-duty police officer playing on the opposing team, reported KTLA. 

The officer had just stolen the ball from Taylor and scored a basket when he punched him, according to the District Attorney's office. 

When he was ejected from the ball game, he reportedly threatened to kill the victim.

A few weeks later on April 15, 2015, when a man came to serve him legal papers, Taylor grabbed and threatened a man who was filming the incident. 

The rapper kept the photographer's camera, according to prosecutors, reported KTLA.  

'The Game' is known for being one of Dr Dre's singers under Aftermath records. He was considered to be a driving force in bringing back the West Coast hip hop scene into the mainstream in the early 2000's.

The Game is, however, at least still connected to the family by a degree of separation, having featured on multiple tracks by Kylie Jenner's boyfriend Tyga. In 2012, the 26-year-old had himself featured on The Game's Celebration.
