The Buzz: Mainly we're interested in seeing Batman forced with an ultimatum to loosen up a bit as Robin is introduced to the LEGOverse. Despite the Caped Crusader's global popularity, he will need to channel his inner Emmet if he wants to perform as well as The LEGO Movie.

M/16   -   Drama | Romance

Metascore: 32/100 (30 reviews)
While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her.

The Buzz: I have zero familiarity with the novels, but Darker seems like a much more interesting movie than the original since Kim Basinger plays Elena Lincoln, the Grey family friend who wound up deflowering young Christian. Too bad you couldn't take the trio of Elena, Christian, and Anastasia Steele out of the dreary Northwest setting and deposit them an environment that's as steamy as their group dynamic. Reports indicate there's much less audience interest in Darker than its predecessor, which would be a shock to the overall franchise.

Certificate R   -   Action | Crime | Thriller

Metascore: 75/100 (37 reviews)
After returning to the criminal underworld to repay a debt, John Wick discovers that a large bounty has been put on his life.

The Buzz: Keanu Reeves returns to dispatch of more baddies in both stylish and gruesome ways. John Wick had everything I wanted in an action movie: wide-frame, super intricate, non-stop to the point of fatigue action and fantastical world-building. John Wick: Chapter 2 looks to double down on the goodness of the first, giving us an expanded look inside the underworld of assassins that Wick exists in, and a promise of bigger and crazier stunts and fight scenes. Bonus for the the Neo/Morpheus reunion with Laurence Fishburne appearing as the mysterious Bowery King. I'm looking forward to seeing this one on the biggest screen possible. - Vanessa

  -   Comedy | Drama

Jolly is a clumsy lawyer who is faced with representing the most critical court case of his career.

The Buzz: In this sequel to the National Award Winner for Best Feature Film, a new all-star cast revisits the concept of a small-time lawyer who lands in big-time trouble. Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi star, with Arshad Warsi, who played the lead role in the original, appearing in a supporting role. The director of both Jolly LLB movies, Subhash Kapoor, also created the satirical dramedy Phas Gaye Re Obama.

Certificate PG-13   -   Biography | Drama | Romance

Metascore: 66/100 (25 reviews)
Prince Seretse Khama of Botswana causes an international stir when he marries a white woman from London in the late 1940s.
Director:

The Buzz: Belle director Amma Asante returns with a historical drama that has an awards sheen but is tethered to the ground by a direct, no-frills approach to storytelling. As you can imagine, the entire project is held up by Oyelowo and Pike's on-screen chemistry.

Metascore: 79/100 (10 reviews)
A profile of an ancient city and its unique people, seen through the eyes of the most mysterious and beloved animal humans have ever known, the Cat.
Director:
Watch Trailer

The Buzz: This Turkish documentary, the debut feature for director Ceyda Torun, turns the cameras on a group of stray cats as they amble around their customary haunts in Istanbul. While the film indeed exposes the day-to-day goings-on of felines, each with a distinct character, what ultimately ends up on screen appears to be a rich portrait of a very ancient city full of equally interesting and distinct individuals. I'm looking forward to exploring Istanbul in a different way - with some stray cats as my guide. - Bret
