Here come the divas! Jennifer Lopez and Adele lead best dressed at the 59th annual Grammy Awards

Pop divas Jennifer Lopez and Adele oozed glamour as they made their mark at the 59th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday.

The ladies sported two very different but equally stunning looks as they lead the celebrity arrivals at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the biggest night in music.

Lopez, 47, flashed cleavage and leg in a soft lilac halterneck gown while Adele looked positively regal in olive green.

Lovely in lilac: The 47-year-old star flashed lots of leg in a halterneck dress with thigh-high slit

Lopez wore a long flowing look with diamond encrusted clutch and heels.

She kept her locks fuss free as they fell poker straight past her waist.

Adele, 28, wowed in a figure-hugging Givenchy dress with checkered bodice and delicate beaded sleeves.

Katy Perry was all about the texture as she arrived in a Tom Ford creation with sequinned turtleneck top and long feathered skirt.

The 32-year-old songstress, who will be performing during the night, rocked thick waves in her bleach blonde tresses.

March to your own beat in military green Givenchy like Adele

Adele has been on a high fashion blitz wearing perennial favorite Burberry, then Giambattista Valli, and then a Valentino gown for recent red carpets and performances. Next up on the hit list is Givenchy Haute Couture for her appearance at the Grammys.

As with all haute couture, the dress was custom made for Adele and has considerable variations from the version that was presented last year. Gone are the large spherical beads throughout the dress along with the peplem waist panels. And added are lace trimmed sleeves in the same olive green shade.

Adele's dress will run you upwards of $10k so we say, spend 1% of that on a lovely olive green gown (that we've selected below) and go on a glamorous holiday around the world with the remainder. Happy shopping!

Some berry lipstick and lashings of mascara completed her look.

Lady Gaga turned heads in a revealing look which showed off some serious underboob.

The star, fresh off the back of her halftime performance at the Super Bowl, mixed black PVC, fishnets and chains for a very racy look.

When Kris asked what her favorite song on Glee was, she said, 'That's like picking who your favorite child is...'

Jenner laughed as she has six kids. Then Lea added, 'My favorite song on Glee would be Somebody You Love.'

This year's ceremony is hosted by British comedian James Corden and will feature performances by a host of stars including Bruno Mars, Adele, Metallica, John Legend, Carrie Underwood, The Weeknd, Katy Perry and Keith Urban.

Beyonce, who announced last week that she's pregnant with twins, is also scheduled to perform and will apparently be 'taking it easier than normal'.

Adele will be hoping her 2017 appearance goes better than last year's which was embarrassingly plagued by technical issues.

During her rendition of All I Ask a microphone fell on the strings of the piano which caused the sound to briefly cut out and Adele's voice drifted out of tune during the rest of the song.

The Recording Academy, which organizes the music industry's premier awards night, took responsibility for the snafu.

Both Beyonce and Adele will be battling it out in the top three categories - album, song and record of the year.

Beyonce leads the night with nine nods followed by Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West with eight nods each in the contest for the music industry's highest honors.

Justin Bieber's Purpose, Canadian hip hop star Drake's Views and country musician Sturgill Simpson's A Sailor's Guide To Earth rounded out the contenders for album of the year.

The Grammy Awards are chosen by members of the music industry and in the past have often been dominated by rock and country music.

But in recent years, more R&B and hip hop artists have been recognized in line with the commercial success of the music form. Drake and Beyonce, along with Adele, had three of the biggest selling albums worldwide of 2016.

When the nominations were announced in December Billboard said Grammy voters had 'recognized with their nominees this year what the rest of the music-listening world has long accepted: that both its commercial and critical center lies with pop, hip hop and R&B.'

However, singer-songwriter Frank Ocean is one artist snubbing the show this year and did not submit his latest album Blonde for Grammys consideration.

Chance The Rapper landed seven nominations including the best new artist category, in which the 23-year-old Chicago native is up against pop duo The Chainsmokers, California rapper Anderson Paak and country music singers Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris.

Prince and George Michael will be honored on Sunday with separate tributes, but organizers have not revealed which stars will perform them.

Recording Academy President Neil Portnow said Purple Rain singer Prince, and British star Michael, who both died suddenly in 2016, were 'pop icons who showcased rare musical genius and otherworldly charisma.'

'The passings of two such creative innovators were a huge loss for the creative community; The Recording Academy is humbled to pay homage to their tremendous legacies on the Grammy stage,' Portnow added in a statement.

Prince, a seven-times Grammy winner, was found dead at his Minneapolis studio complex in April. An autopsy revealed the 57 year-old died of an accidental overdose of the painkiller fentanyl.

Michael, 53, known for songs like Last Christmas and Freedom, was found dead at his British home on Christmas Day. The double Grammy winner's manager said the singer died of heart failure, but the official cause is still being investigated.

David Bowie, who died in January 2016, was honored at last year's Grammys in a tribute performed by Lady Gaga.

Bowie's final release, Blackstar, is competing for four Grammys at the awards show in Los Angeles on Sunday, including best alternative album.
