Radio host Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small was welcomed into the singer's new LA pad in the Hollywood Hills for the candid chat.

Lounging on his sofa, Niall added: 'As I've said many times, we’d be stupid not to' regarding the pending formation of One Direction.

Having been created on Britain's X Factor in 2010, he openly said: 'It changed our lives, it was the biggest part of our lives.'

The boy band also consists of Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and previously, Zayn Malik (who announced his departure in 2015).

'It's going to be good when it happens': Niall didn't give an exact date for when the band would get back together in his candid chat with Smallzy, announcing he's been working on solo projects of late, much like his band-mates

'It's going to be good when it happens... when it happens I don’t know,' he honestly confessed while sipping on a healthy juice.

Niall, much like his band-mates, has been working on solo projects of late, debuting his first single My Town last September.

'We just put it out to kind of let people know that I was actually doing something... I knew the song was good when I wrote it… but the reaction to it has been insane,' he said with a grin.

The acoustic track was met with great success, reaching the top 10 in the UK and Ireland charts, and the top 20 over in the US.

'I'm doing this, going to go do a bit of a tour, Louis got his movie coming out, Harry's doing his thing and Liam's doing his thing,' Niall explained of the group members' busy schedules.

As for following up his own single with a new album, the musician appears to have a long road ahead.

'I’m looking forward to bringing it out, but again I want to get it right and I don’t want to just half a** it, you know?' he told Smallzy, revealing he's pushed back the album to have more time to perfect it.
