'Ready to find love': Rachel Lindsay receives red rose as Jimmy Kimmel introduces her as next Bachelorette

Rachel Lindsay was introduced Monday as the first ever black lead on ABC's reality dating competition franchise.

The 31-year-old Dallas lawyer was announced as the next star of The Bachelorette during an appearance on the network's Jimmy Kimmel Live chat show.

The Bachelor franchise host Chris Harrison, 45, helped Kimmel, 49, introduce Rachel.

Chris relied on some of the show's familiar cliches as he asked Kimmel how he was feeling and if his heart was ready for the journey.

Jimmy finally brought out Rachel who looked stunning in a sleeveless black dress with a mid-cutout.

She was handed a red rose upon taking the stage at the chat show studio in Hollywood.

Rachel currently remains in the running on the current season of The Bachelor featuring Nick Viall, 36, as the lead.

Jimmy noted that The Bachelorette was only a few weeks away from starting filming.

Rachel said she was approached to become The Bachelorette shortly after The Bachelor concluded.

She told Jimmy that initially she believed ABC was offering her the role because she was heartbroken and they felt sorry for her but she declared that she was 'ready to find love'

'I'm looking for somebody who is ready for what I'm ready for,' Rachel said.

Jimmy then gave her a key ring to the Bachelor Mansion with keys to the limousine, helicopter, Fantasy Suite and hot tub.
