She recently admitted to wanting more children in the near future, but broody Katherine Heigl only had eyes for her latest on Tuesday evening.

The American actress, 38, was supported by husband Josh Kelley and their baby son, Joshua Jr, during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden in Hollywood.

With cameras granted access to the backstage green room, an area commonly used by celebrity guests to relax prior to their interview with the British host, Katherine was seen showering her two-month old child with affection.

Katherine, who was promoting new CBS show Doubt, was in characteristically high spirits as she gazed down at the tot, whose empty baby stroller idled close by.

Sitting alongside his wife, singer-songwriter Josh, 37, looked relaxed while observing the actress fuss over their young son.

Born on December 20, Joshua Jr is the couple's first biological child, however they are also parents to daughters Nancy Leigh and Adelaide, who they adopted from South Korea and the United States respectively. 

Speaking to People magazine, the blonde actress recently admitted she is keen to extend her family with Josh in the near future. 

'I’d get pregnant again, and I still am very inspired by adoption,' she explained. 'I also have been thinking a lot about fostering.'

As well as her children, she also has her niece Madison living with her at her Utah ranch because 'This kid is a horsewoman, and that’s what she wants to do.'

She and Josh are 'part of the village that’s helping raise her,' she said, adding: 'She’s such a good example for my girls. She’s passionate and committed to what she loves.'

Of her eldest, Katherine said that 'Nancy Leigh is my very, very smart, very compassionate, very big-hearted little gal. She's totally Mommy's little helper and loves being the big sister.'

Meanwhile, 'Adalaide has so much just inherent self-esteem, which I am so proud of and so grateful for.

'When you're raising girls, you want them to be confident and you want them to love who they are. With Adalaide, I’m not gonna have any problems with that.'
