The All Summer Long singer's name was thrown out during a GOP convention over the weekend in his home state of Michigan
Kid Rock has reportedly been eyed as a possible contender for a seat in the senate in his home state of Michigan.
The All Summer Long singer's name was thrown out during a GOP convention over the weekend as a potential opponent for Democrat Debbie Stabenow, Roll Call reported.
Tea Party activist Wes Nakagiri apparently mentioned the rock singer's name and said he bets Rock will 'generate as much excitement as Trump did,' Michigan Live reported.
However, a rep for the Michigan GOP told Fox News that no one has actually reached out to Kid Rock, but that it would be 'awesome' if he did run.
Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, has previously stated that he has voted Republican, but identifies a libertarian.
Ritchie supported Mitt Romney during the 2012 presidential election.
The heartland rock singer supported GOP candidate Ben Carson, telling Fox News Anchor Megyn Kelly that he loved 'the black guy.'
Rock eventually stood behind Trump when he won the nomination.
He first voiced his support for Trump last February, saying he found his campaign to be 'entertaining as s**t'.
Senator Rock? The rockstar has voiced his support for GOP candidates in the past and would go up against Senator Debbie Stabenow if he decides to run
Ritchie launched a clothing line in support of the president on his Twitter in December, claiming that there had an 'overwhelming demand' after he sported the map shirt at a recent performance.
The T-shirts were emblazoned with 'God, Guns and Trump' and 'Make America Bada** again.'
If the rockstar decides to run for senator he'll be up against Stabenow who has held the seat since for the past 17 years.
