Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly is BANNED from NFL scouting combine for threatening to shoot up bar with AK-47 during late-night confrontation

  • Chad Kelly has been banned from participating in the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine that will take place later this month
  • Soon after the news broke the 22-year-old quarterback, who attends Ole Miss, was mocked on Twitter by Lebanese beauty Mia Khalifa
  • The former porn star wrote: 'He wasn't invited in my DM's either, so he'll prob show up to the combine drunk asking Gruden if he wants to FaceTime'
  • Kelly had believed he would be able to participate in the combines as recently as last month
  • He was prohibited however due to a 2014 bar brawl he was involved in while home in Buffalo, during which he threatened to get a gun and open fire
  • As a result of that conviction he will also not be able to attend the NFL draft, where many hope he will get selected by the Bills like his uncle Jim Kelly

Chad Kelly is facing yet another setback in his football career as a result of his off-field antics, with the NFL declaring that the OIe Miss quarterback will not be allowed to participate in the Scouting Combine later this month.

That is because Kelly is one of the over 20 college football players who violated a new rule adopted just last year which prohibits individuals with misdemeanor or felony convictions involving violence, use of a weapon, domestic violence, sexual offense and/or sexual assault from being a part of official league events.

Kelly earned his ban thanks to a 2014 bar fight that ended with him threatening to 'spray' the establishment with his AK 47. He then resisted arrest by kicking and swinging at the officers who arrived on the scene.

Soon after the news broke, Kelly was mocked by Lebanese beauty Mia Khalifa, the former porn star who last year went public with Kelly's sex pest behavior by posting his repeated requests asking her to FaceTime with him.

Khalifa's comment came in response to a Twitter user who suggested she was behind Kelly's ban.

'He wasn't invited in my DM's either, so he'll prob show up to the combine drunk asking [Monday Night Football color commentator Jon] Gruden if he wants to FaceTime,' wrote Khalifa.

She later tweeted out a shirt she was selling with the letters 'D' and 'M' in caps and a slide running through the 'D'

She tweeted at Kelly when she posted the shirt, writing: 'Yo Swag, what's your address? Wanna mail you a shirt @ckelly_10'

The two tweets marked the first time Khalifa had poked fun at Kelly since their correspondence came to an abrupt following a tweet sent in mid-October.

On October 15, Khalifa tagged Kelly's football program and wrote: 'Yo @OleMissFB, come get your man.'

The quarterback deleted his Twitter account soon after that incident.

Kelly meanwhile seemed to have no idea he was going to be kept out of the combine, where approximately 300 draft prospects will get one last chance to show their talents.

He spoke with reporter Chase Goodbread just last month about his plans, and the sports write later wrote: 'Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly told me rehab has gone well enough that he might fully participate in combine. If not, pro day for sure.'

Kelly will not get to do the combine or pro day however, and worst of all he will also not be able to attend the NFL draft next month.

The combine could have made a bigger difference for Kelly in terms of where he would be picked than perhaps any other prospect this year due in large part to the fact that a knew injury benched him in early November and he has not been on the field since.

Kelly was filmed punching a bouncer in the face back in December of 2014 when the man refused to let him inside a Buffalo bar, which soon set off a massive brawl.

The underage football star, who was only 20 at the time, was also facing a ban at that establishment too as a result of his behavior.

An enraged Kelly then told the staff at Encores: 'I'm going to my truck and get my AK 47 and spraying this place.'

Things escalated once more when police arrived on the scene and tried to physically remove Kelly, who was sitting inside a friend's truck outside the bar.

He kicked at the officers and tried to swing at a few too before they were able to get him in a patrol car and book him.

This all took place just four days before Christmas.

Kelly's friend Brandon Hickey, who was arrested alongside him, told police that he had been trying to calm Kelly during the situation but had no luck.

'I told Chad to stop, "You’re only gonna make things worse, listen to what the officers tell you what to do,"' said Hickey according to paperwork filed by officers for the City of Buffalo.

'But he never does, once he starts something he refuses to quit on anything, that’s what makes him such a good athlete.'

Kelly meanwhile apologized profusely, saying: 'It’s all my fault. Sorry for what I did. I f***ed up. I wasn’t raised like that. I’m going to lose everything. It’s all my fault.'

He then told police that he was trying to get out of the truck and not resisting arrest when he kicked and swung at them.

'I was just trying to get out of the car to talk to you guys,' said Kelly.

When asked later to paint a full picture of what happened that evening to lead up the his threat of opening fire , Kelly told Officer Frank Dixon: 'Drinking has nothing to do with it. Honestly my two best friends started fighting and I got my f***ing a** kicked by four guys at the bar.'

According to the report he then added: 'And I’m not a f***** but four guys kicked my a** at the bar. I just wanted to go home.'

Kelly managed to work out a deal in the end and was only charged with disorderly conduct despite initial charges that ranged from assault and harassment to menacing and resisting arrest along with some criminal mischief and obstructing governmental administration.

He was sentenced to 50 hours of community service and ordered to write an apology note to the Buffalo Police Department.

At the time he was just getting ready to join Ole Miss after exiting Clemson in April of 2014 for conduct detrimental to the team.

One week prior to his dismissal the quarterback very publicly unleashed on one of his coaches and began to scream at the man, a move that led the team to bench him for the rest of the game.

'He has had a pattern of behavior that is not consistent with the values of our program,' Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney said in a statement at the time.

'I hope he will mature and grow from this and become the man and player I know he can be. I wish him nothing but the best in the future academically and athletically.'

Kelly did get to play for Ole Miss, but even there he had his issues, including one that lead to him being publicly scolded by the school this past October.

That came after Kelly was captured on video storming the field during one of his brother's high school football games when a brawl broke out among the teams.

Kelly had to be dragged off and pulled away by those who knew him at the field.

A week later he was off Twitter and a month later his season was over.

Now he waits to see what's next, with many hoping he could find himself with his hometown Buffalo Bills.

It is the same team his uncle played for during all 11 years of his career - Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly.
