The owner of the store was forced to call in a snake catcher to deal with the eastern brown, which is the second most venomous snake in the world.

Rolly Burrell, from Snake Catchers Adelaide, arrived on the scene and was filmed dealing with the snake.

Calmly, he approaches the snake from behind and swiftly picks it up by its tail.

Mr Burrell tells a bystander that the snake is a young eastern brown before safely dropping it gently into his bag.

Eastern brown snakes are native to Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and are found throughout eastern Australia.

They are commonly found in open grassland, pastures and woodland but also stray into homes as they search for house mice to feed on.

Eastern brown snake bites can cause diarrhea, dizziness, convulsions, renal failure, paralysis and cardiac arrest.
