- Sinead O'Connor retracted her accusation Arsenio Hall gave Prince drugs
- In a May 2016 Facebook post she said he was the late singer's 'b****'
- O'Connor also claimed Hall 'spiked her drink at Eddie Murphy's house'
- She apologized 'unequivocally' on Wednesday for the Facebook accusations
- Hall agreed to drop his $5million lawsuit against her in light of the apology
Arsenio Hall has dropped a $5million lawsuit against Sinead O'Connor over a Facebook post in which she claimed he gave Prince drugs.
Hall took legal action after O'Connor explosively accused him of supplying the late singer with narcotics and even 'spiking her drink' at a party years earlier at Eddie Murphy's house.
O'Connor apologized for her comments on Wednesday and issued a retraction, prompting Hall to drop his lawsuit in response.
'I apologize for my Facebook posts about Arsenio to the extent that anyone thought I was accusing him of acting as Prince's drug dealer and supplying him with illegal hard drugs, or insinuating that Arsenio had something to do with Prince's death.
'I sincerely apologize because those statements would be false, and I retract them unequivocally,' she told TMZ in a statement.

Arsenio Hall has dropped his $5million lawsuit against Sinead O'Connor who accused him last year of supplying Prince with drugs
Hall confirmed the lawsuit had been dropped, issuing his own statement to ABC through lawyers.
'Arsenio's lawyers have confirmed that now that Arsenio's reputation has been restored by Sinead's unequivocal retraction and apology, the lawsuit will be dismissed.'
O'Connor made the sensational claims in a Facebook post on May 2, 2016, just a few weeks after Prince's death.
'Two words for the DEA investigating where prince got his drugs over the decades...
'Arsenio Hall (AKA Prince's and Eddie Murphy's b****) Anyone imagining prince was not a long time hard drug user is living in cloud cuckoo land. Arsenio I've reported you to the Carver County Sheriff's office. Expect their call.
O'Connor said Hall supplied the late singer, with whom he was friends, with drugs 'for years'
'They are aware you spiked me years ago at Eddie murphy's house. You best get tidying your man cave,' she said.
Hall was swift in taking action, filing papers the same month to slam her comments as 'malicious lies'.
'The malicious statements made by O'Connor are absolutely false, and O'Connor's heinous accusations that Hall engaged in this criminal conduct are despicable, fabricated lies.
'The truth is that Hall never supplied illegal drugs to Prince, and he never "spiked" O'Connor with drugs,' it said.
O'Connor sparked a missing persons report less than two weeks after the Facebook comments after threatening suicide.
She was found unharmed in a motel and later went on an online rant against her family.
In the days after Prince's death in April last year, Hall spoke of their friendship and how he'd been aware of his health problems but that they 'didn't talk about it'.
'I was aware of hip pain that he had and I remember, it's interesting because Prince would have the cane but I feel like the cane preceded the pain.
'There was a point where he was having some pain. I never talked about that kind of thing but I never got into it.
'I'm really gonna miss him and I'm playing his music every day,' he told Access Hollywood.
