But things didn't go so well for former 1D member.

Perrie Edwards beat her ex-fiance Zayn Malik to pick up Best Single at the 37th BRIT Awards, with her bandmates taking the occasion to thank their former flames in their acceptance speech.

The songstress, 23, was joined by the rest of Little Mix - Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall - as they scooped the gong for their number one hit, Shout Out To My Ex.

Legs eleven! The girls were overcome with emotion after winning the award as they sashayed back to their seats

Despite paying tribute to their ex partners in their acceptance speech, Zayn wasn't in attendance, choosing to skip the event despite his nomination.

The girls were not fazed, with Jade gushing on stage: 'Thank you so much. We honestly didn't think we were gonna get it, we were just sat there chin-wagging.

'We'd like to thank our label Sony, Syco, Simon (Cowell), our amazing A&R, our management, and us girls, because if it wasn't for our friendship, we wouldn't still be going. And lastly cheers to our exes for helping us to do an amazing song, this one's for you lads.'
