 She stars in two Oscar nominated films: Moonlight and Hidden Figures.

And on Wednesday night, Janelle Monae stepped out in a textured frock to celebrate Los Angeles Confidential's Spring Oscars issue.

The 31-year-old, who serves as the cover girl, paired a lace and feather detailed frock with a choker and crimson painted lips.

Janelle's floor-length look had a sheer skirt with black and white patches.

While her sleeves were lacy, the rest of the top had bits of feather and even more patchwork.

The singer added sparkling earrings and rings with a simple black choker.

The dark haired beauty rocked a top knot with red lipstick, brown shadowed lids and defined brows.

Her first on-screen role was for the Moonlight, a drama directed by Barry Jenkins.

At this year's Oscars, Moonlight is up for: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Score, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali and Best Supporting Actress for Naomie Harris.

Janelle also stars in Hidden Figures, which is about three mathematicians who help NASA with their space program.

Hidden Figures is nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Picture and her co-star Octavia Spencer is nominated for Best Supporting Actress. 

Linda Thompson arrived for the bash wearing a white dress with a gold belt and cream cardigan.

Ellie Bamber stepped out in a textured black and gold dress with lace accents, adding pink lip gloss and lace-up heels.
