It was a nippy 52F in New York on Thursday morning.

But that didn't stop a smiling Jordin Sparks from hitting Rockefeller Plaza outside NBC's Today Show studio with host Sheinelle Jones to give away TVs to a few of the hundreds of fans waiting.

The 27-year-old actress and singer was co-hosting for the day and seemed to be having a ball as she chatted to the folks in the throng.

She wore a red dress that fell just above her knees and covered up in a black coat, tied at the waist, to keep warm.

The 5ft 10ins star, who was wearing black high-heeled court shoes, towered over Sheinelle.

At one point host Al Roker commented on the petite host's height and Sheinelle dished: 'I'm wearing my highest heels.'

Al didn't brave the cold, staying nice and warm in the studio.

The former American Idol champion also shared an Instagram snap of herself in the studio sitting to the right of the 62-year-old with Sheinelle on his other side.

All three had mugs of coffee and cocktails adorned with paper umbrellas in front of them, although, given it was so early, their brightly colored drinks probably didn't contain alcohol.

Jordin was later seen leaving the building wearing a grey and black wrap that she clutched around her shoulders.

Her long raven-dark tresses were center parted and a pop of red lipstick matched the color of her frock.

Jordin's latest movie, God Bless the Broken Road, tells the story of a young mother who loses her husband in Afghanistan and struggles to raise their young daughter in his absence. It was released February 10.

She also showed up in a guest role on ABC sitcom The Real O'Neals this week.
