'I just had to FaceTime him!': Jennifer Metcalfe recalls exciting moment she told Greg Lake she was pregnant as she shows off blossoming baby bump for the first time

Rumours began to swirl that she was expecting her first child with her boyfriend Greg Lake earlier this week.

And Jennifer Metcalfe has now confirmed the exciting news that she is six months pregnant to OK! Magazine.

The actress, 34, showed off her blossoming bump as she posed with Greg in a stunning shoot for the issue - before admitting that she actually informed her 32-year-old partner of the news over FaceTime.

Posing in an array of figure-hugging frocks, the brunette looked every inch the glowing mother-to-be as she revealed that she is six months pregnant.

However while the pair are looking forward to their new arrival, due in June, Jennifer admitted that she and Greg had actually been apart when she discovered her positive test - forcing her to tell him over video chat.

She explained: 'Greg was in Newcastle working and I was in Liverpool so I just had to FaceTime him. He didn’t know I was doing the pregnancy test,' before adding with a laugh: 'No one knew I was pregnant!'

The pair also confessed that while the baby was not strictly planned, becoming parents had always been on their mind - so they were not opposed to the idea either.

Jennifer continued: 'We got to the stage where we were like: ‘If this happens, it would be amazing.’ We took it in our stride and didn’t put any pressure on ourselves.'

To which Greg then interjected to joke: 'Then we realised I have super-swimmers, so it was easy!' 

The beauty, famed for playing Mercedes McQueen on the Channel 4 soap, has been dating former reality star Greg, 32, since January 2013.

After a brief stint on Geordie Shore, Greg was thrust back into the limelight when he started dating Jennifer two years later, and the pair's relationship has only gone from strength-to-strength.

She said: 'I feel like I’m the one who’s got to go through labour, so if I’ve got a little surprise at the end, it might get me through however many hours it’s going to be!'

However Greg admitted he already has his own predictions, adding: 'I’m convinced it’s a girl, though. I dreamt it. A little girl ran to me. I don’t know how because she was a baby, but she did.'

It was first reported that Jennifer was pregnant on Friday, with a source claiming the brunette beauty was 'over the moon'  at the prospect of starting a family with her boyfriend of four years.

A source had told The Sun: 'Jen and Greg are delighted. They have told their friends and family, who are chuffed too. 

'Obviously after her difficult time filming her last pregnancy scenes on Hollyoaks this is a breath of fresh air for Jen.

'It’s going to be an exciting rest of the year for her.'
