Reddit user delighted after production company fly him to Logan's New York premiere to meet his hero Hugh Jackman... years after they first met in a sandwich shop

A Hugh Jackman superfan first met his idol when they bumped into each other at a sandwich shop in South Korea.

And after posting on Reddit about their encounter at a Quiznos in Seoul eight years ago, the production company of the Hollywood heavyweight's new film Logan got in touch with Clayton Spencer to offer him the opportunity of a lifetime.

Twentieth Century Fox flew the fan to the New York Premiere of the film, which took place on Friday, where he met the man himself on the red carpet.

'Apparently FOX Studios caught wind of this and they are flying me to New York to meet Hugh Jackman, and see LOGAN at a RED CARPET Screening! Thank you REDDIT!' he wrote.

The post which got Clayton noticed recalled how he turned round, while in the queue for a sandwich at Seoul World Trade Center, to find the 48-year-old stood behind him.

Hugh, who was in the Korean capital for the premiere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, proceeded to ask for some advice from Clayton, who was working as a teacher in the city at the time.

After recommending his regular order, Clayton was too 'star struck' to ask the Sydney native for a photo, but the experience held fond memories for him nonetheless.

He wrote: 'For him it is just a Wednesday getting a sandwich. For me it is meeting the perfect personification of a childhood hero that I had read about for more than 20 years at that point.

'I'm also sure that asking someone what is good to eat means nothing to most people but it meant the world to me.'

Clayton finally got his photo with his hero eight years on from their chance meeting at the sandwich shop, when they were reunited on the red carpet.

Posting on Monday, he wrote: 'It was great to meet him again, if only for a brief moment. Either way this weekend has been absolutely fantastic.'
