Mother-of-two Nikki Smith, 33, from Bristol has ditched an online appeal after trying to crowdfund £5,000 so she could take her daughters, aged 10 and 12, to Disneyland

In an appeal on the page, she wrote: 'I have been blessed with the most amazing, kind, loving and caring daughters, they are my best friends and my life.

'They watch a lot of YouTube videos where children are surprised by their parents with a holiday to Disneyworld and I know I would never be able to get them there on my own.

'By the time I save up they will be too old to enjoy it.

'We lost two very special people in our lives these past couple of years and this really would give them so much to look forward to, please help me make my daughters dreams come true.'

The post was shared more than 18,000 times on social media and attracted ridicule online.

She told the Sun: 'I just thought it would be the only way it would ever happen.

Jen Donaldson posted on the social media site: 'What's worse is that two people have donated!'

Ashley Scott wrote: 'There's kids dying and crying out for help for Go Fund Me pages for treatment to save their lives. I know which one I would be donating to.'
