Seaside Dubrovnik is a far cry from England's Sherwood Forest, suggesting there may be some sort of twist, though the city's architecture could easily double as the film's grand castle.

Otto Bathurst, who directed episodes of Peaky Blinders, Hustle and Black Mirror, wanted Welsh actor Taron Egerton so much that he decided to postpone shooting (until he was done with Kingsman 2) so he could play the lead role.

Set for a release date in the US of March 28, 2018, a construction crew started building the set late last year, ready for Oscar-winning actor Leonardo to produce the classic British tale.

Jamie's professional appearance comes a week after he was on the receiving end of 'arrogant and rude' insults from diners at a restaurant in the city of Dubrovnik.

Croatian police said on Tuesday that they have filed disorderly conduct charges against two people who allegedly targeted 'one of the guests on racial grounds'.

The police statement did not name the actor as the target, but the actor briefly posted comments about the incident on his Instagram profile before deleting them.

Foxx mentioned an offensive racial term among the examples of the vulgar language used.

Police said they are investigating whether to pursue other charges against the men.

A day after the alleged racial slur, Foxx said on his Instagram profile he has his 'mind blown' by the beauty of Dubrovnik.

He exclaimed: 'For a young boy from Terrell, this is blowing my mind just a little bit. I have seen some s*** but this right here….I’m all the way from Terrell, Texas, don’t tell me your dreams can’t come true.
