'There's something powerful about believing God has a bigger plan': Rory Feek on how faith has helped him cope with loss of wife Joey 

It's been one year since Rory Feek lost his wife and musical partner Joey passed away.

The country artist is reflecting upon the last year's struggles and triumphs in a new interview with Simple Grace Magazine.

The 51-year-old musician says he doesn't have any regrets, but if he could do things again: '[I'd] cherish every moment of every day more.'

The Chain Of Love singer continued, 'I'd love Joey more and serve her more and do a million gazillion things to show her more how much she means to me.

'No matter how much of that I did, it still wasn't enough. She always deserved more.'

Kory's wife and Joey + Rory bandmate passed away at the age of 40 on March 4, 2016 after a trying battle against cervical cancer.

The country artist was deeply changed by his wife's battle against cancer.

The Grammy winner told the faith based magazine, 'You can't watch the woman you love go through what Joey went through and not be changed.'

He continued to tell Simple Grace, '[I was] Changed by her. Changed by God. Changed by her faith and how she lived it out to the end of the line. 

'Joey helped me fully realize the potential of my character...and my walk with God.'

The Nashville native's faith in God has gone a long way in helping the artist find solace during his grief.

'It's not always easy, but trust in Him changes everything,' explained Rory.

'It overcomes emotions like fear and hopelessness. There's something powerful about believing He has a bigger plan for us all.'

The Can You Duet contestant is currently focusing on raising the couple's two-year-old daughter Indiana. 

Indiana, nicknamed Indy, was born with Down Syndrome. Joey gave birth to their daughter shortly before her diagnosis in 2014. 

She is the couple's only biological child, but Rory has two daughters from a previous marriage.

Joey + Rory started their country duo in 2008 and won a Grammy for best roots gospel album this year.

Rory honored one of his wife's dying wishes the country-bluegrass singer took home the Grammy for the album Hymns That Are Important To Us late February. 

At the ceremony he dedicated his win to her saying, 'This is to my wife. Thank you so much.'
