Mandy Moore reveals the finale of This Is Us will 'destroy America' as she graces magazine cover with co-stars 

Fans are still lamenting the loss of William Hill on NBC's hit drama This Is Us.

But Mandy Moore insists that the heartbreak hasn't even started yet, as she and her castmates grace the cover of Variety.

The March issue sees Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown and Justin Hartley all wearing large grins as they gather around a dining room table on set and discuss the upcoming emotional finale.

'We're going to destroy America by the end of the season,' Moore divulged, 'As if they don't have enough to be upset about at this point in time, anyway.'

The 32-year-old brunette beauty added: 'But they're going to be upset for a completely different set of reasons.

Creator of the hit show - which has been picked up for two more seasons - Dan Fogelman echoed those sentiments: '[The finale] is definitely the darkest place we've been.'

He added ominously: 'There is a scene with Milo and Mandy that I have not seen on television. I think it's going to rock people.' 

Milo added his take on filming the finale: 'I felt very removed. We were coming together to make something great, but it didn't feel good at all.'

It is known throughout the series that Milo's character Jack Pearson, who is married to Moore's character Rebecca Pearson, ultimately dies in the show.

However, the cause of his death will not be revealed in the first season, and the writers hope to be able to stretch out the mystery around his death without frustrating the viewers.

The cast and crew's comments are definite indications that fans have to brace themselves for a potentially heartbreaking episode.

In the on-set interview, Fogelman attributes the show's success to the casting.

The Crazy, Stupid, Love writer said: 'We don't say, "Oh, we directed it so well," or, "Oh, what a well-written episode of television." The one thing we do always say is, "Wow, we cast the hell out of this show."'

The finale for the award-winning series is set to air March 14, a week after its original date of the 7th, due to President Trump addressing Congress the week before bumping every show up one week.
