'My man by me!' Gigi Hadid steps behind the camera as she shoots boyfriend Zayn Malik in intimate new shoot for Versus

It’s usually his stunning girlfriend who handles promotional duties, but for once the cameras have quite literally been turned as Zayn Malik features in a brand new shoot on behalf of Versus.

The former One Direction star features in the spring-summer 2017 campaign from Italian fashion house Versace’s diffusion line of high end clothing and accessories.

Shot by supermodel girlfriend Gigi Hadid at iconic Hollywood venue Chateau Marmont, the images capture Zayn, 24, in a series of typically reflective poses as he showcases the latest range.

Sharing on such shot with her Instagram followers, Gigi’s boot-clad feet are seen on either side of her boyfriend as he reclines on the white sheets of a large double bed.

With a leather jacket partially clothing his otherwise naked upper-body, Zayn’s array of chest tattoos are visible, with a smitten Gigi captioning the shot: ‘My man by me for @versus_versace2017.’ 

A second shot captures Zayn in a similar position as he relaxes on an olive green sofa, his eyes gazing wistfully off camera.

Elsewhere Zayn is shot by Gigi as he plays his guitar, while another captures the famously shy star with his gaze cast to the floor.  

Reflecting on the shoot in an official statement, Zayn admitted he revelled in the opportunity to work with Gigi and designer Donatella Versace.

'It was sick to work with Versus,' he said. 'Dontella is a G. It was extra special that Gigi shot the campaign. Looking forward to following up with my Versus collection that drops in June.' 

The celebrated designer was equally complimentary about her young muse, adding: 'The Versus campaign captures everything that is special about ZAYN, Gigi and Adwoa. 

'They are young people who define the mood of their generation with their honesty, energy and their love.' 

Filmed by Gigi using iPhones and digital cameras,  the campaign images will feature individually on social media and collectively in print.
