Justin Bieber sent his fans wild on Tuesday night when he posted a sweet message on his former flame Sofia Richie's Instagram.

After the 18-year-old shared a stunning image of herself from a shoot with Flaunt magazine, he simply wrote the words: 'Ur so pretty' in the comments section.

While 23-year-old Justin may have broken some hearts with the very public declaration of affection, it's fair to say that many Beliebers thought it was a bold yet lovely move.

Sofia was propelled into the spotlight when she started dating singer Justin Bieber last summer.

The Canadian pop star is said to have felt his romance with the Sofia was getting too 'hot and heavy' - leading to him calling their dalliance off.

Justin, who quit Instagram over fan reactions to his romance with Sofia (daughter of crooner Lionel Richie), is said to have wanted something more casual.

Speaking to E! Online a source close to the chart-topper said: 'They were never officially together, but more casual hanging out and having fun.
