He's reached an agreement with his ex-wife Paula Patton to keep their legal proceedings private as they come close to reaching a settlement over custody of their son, according to TMZ.

And in light of the news, Robin Thicke sported a much more relaxed demeanour as he stepped out for a coffee run with his girlfriend April Love Geary in Beverly Hills on Thursday. 

The Blurred Lines singer, 39, couldn't contain his smiles as he enjoyed the low-key outing with his stunning model girlfriend, 22, who basked in his company.

Robin was dressed for comfort in a dark grey top, black jeans and trainers, which was complemented by a labyrinth of chains dangling down his front. 

The Los Angeles native, who was grinning like a Cheshire cat, wore his locks in his signature gelled-up hairdo.

He held onto an iced coffee in one hand and utilised his other to lovingly keep his stunning other half close. 

Make-up free April, who is 17 years his junior, flaunted her modelesque frame as she flashed her enviably toned stomach in a tiny crop top and ripped ankle-grazing skinny jeans.

Her brunette tresses were unstyled and framed her naturally striking features as she matched her beau's high-spirited mood.   

Robin's lively display is no surprise given that him and his former lover have decided to keep their once very public custody battle over their son private. 

The musician was spotted on an outing with his son Julian, six, on Tuesday as news broke that a scheduled court hearing in his bitter battle with ex-wife Paula Patton was shelved.

Robin and his girlfriend April held hands with Julian as they arrived at the Malibu Farmer's Market.

The trio appeared in good spirits on their casual outing.

The singer was dressed in black jeans, t-shirt and leather jacket while his son wore blue denims paired with a gray hoodie over a white t-shirt.

April wore a white turtleneck and black skinny jeans ripped at the knee under a long black coat.

The change of heart over waging war in public comes after Paula was granted a temporary restraining order against Robin in January.

She had accused him of using excessive physical force on Julian and of being physically abusive during their marriage, which ended in 2015.

The trial, which was to begin on Monday, would have been a two-week long, private proceeding that would have determined whether the temporary restraining order should be extended for up to five years.

The order granted Paula sole custody on January 26 and Thicke was forced to stay away from his ex-wife and their son, but granted him three supervised visits a week.

Allegations have been thrown back and forth, with Robin denying any child or spousal abuse and Paula alleging Robin invited a drug dealer to their son's fifth birthday to bribing a court monitor with expensive dinners.

But, TMZ reported, the exes have decided to co-parent and 'are far along in working out the details of their custody arrangement.'

Paula and Robin met when she was 15 and he was 14, and dated for 10 years before getting married in 2005. She filed for divorce in October 2014, which was finalised a few months later.
