David Arquette delightedly revealed he and his wife Christina welcomed a baby son to the world on Wednesday.

The esteemed actor delightedly announced the news via Instagram as he revealed his baby's name - Augustus Alexis Arquette, although he will be known to his family as Gus.

Augustus' middle name is a homage to his late sister Alexis Arquette who tragically passed away unexpectedly in September.

David, 45, and Christina announced on Instagram late last year that they are expecting their second child together and are thrilled that it's another little boy.

The Scream star - who also shares 12-year-old daughter Coco with his ex-wife Courteney Cox - uploaded a sweet video of their two-year-old son Charlie holding a picture of the baby scan.

After parading her bump at many events, as David accompanied her lovingly, the couple have now revealed they are parents to a beautiful newborn son.

The caption attached to the shot simply stated the date and name of his little boy: 'Augustus Alexis Arquette || March 8, 2017 @christinaarquette'.

In their announcement video David captioned the clip on Instagram: "So incredibly blessed and honored that my wife @christinaarquette is pregnant with a baby boy!

'Thank you Christina and humbled gratitude to G-D for this tremendous gift! Charlie and Coco are so excited and I am over the moon!!! (sic)'

The happy family chose the name with meaning, as Augustus' middle name is a nod to David's sister Alexis, the transgender actress who died September 11, 2016 at 47 from a heart attack.

Medical officials confirmed a week after Alexis's death that the actress waged a 29-year battle against HIV, which also played a role in her passing, as well as a bacterial infection she had been dealing with in the prior three weeks.

David, along with sisters Rosanna and Patricia and brother Richmond, issued a statement after the death of their sister, whose notable roles included stints in Last Exit to Brooklyn, The Wedding Singer and Pulp Fiction.

Remembering her talents in across multiple platforms - Alexis was a 'brilliant artist and painter, a singer, an entertainer and an actor,' they said - the four surviving siblings addressed the courage and strength in which Alexis conducted herself, even to her own professional detriment.

'Her career was cut short, not by her passing, but by her decision to live her truth and her life as a transgender woman,' the siblings said. 'She refused to play roles that were demeaning or stereotypical. She was a vanguard in the fight for understanding and acceptance for all trans people.'

Alexis, who was born Robert Arquette, also brought her life journey to the masses appearing on VH1's The Surreal Life; and Alexis Arquette: She's My Brother, which chronicled her gender reassignment process.
