An upsetting video has emerged online showing a man brutally kicking his wife and stomping on her head in front of their daughter. 

The incident took place outside a hospital in Taiyuan, northern China's Shanxi province on February 26. 

Web users criticized the man's act amid fears that his actions could have a physiological impact on the child who was forced to watch.

It's unclear what could have caused the shocking incident. 

In the video posted to Youku.com, the woman can be seen being pressed on the ground while the husband holds her pink handbag in his hand. 

The man can be seen stamping on her head three times and swearing at her. He then kicks her stomach.

Their young daughter, in pink jacket, can be seen standing next to them and watching the entire ordeal. 

She appeared startled and went back a few steps when her father starts to savagely strike her mother with his feet. 

Chinese social media users commented on the fact that the father's violent behaviour will impact the children growing up. They also condemned the act of carrying it out in front of the young child.
