Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has had a successful second operation on his knee.

The Toffees wideman was injured during the 1-1 draw with Manchester United on December 4 when he crumpled after colliding with Antony Martial. It was initially diagnosed as cruciate ligament damage but further scans revealed that he had also torn his meniscus.

Having initially had one operation to rectify the meniscus problem before Christmas, Bolasie's second course of surgery to repair the ruptured ligament has also been deemed a success.

Posting a video to Instagram from his hospital bed, Bolasie said: 'Yeah guys, what's happening? Just come out my second operation.

'So all the healing from the first operation has been great according to my surgeon. Just in a little bit of pain, so, for the fans, thanks for all the support and I'll keep you updated through all my rehab.

'Take care, keep calm. By the time you know it, the kid's going to be back. Bless.'

The 27-year-old posted the recording on Wednesday afternoon alongside the caption: 'God is good! Thanks for all the support!'

There is no timescale on when Bolasie, who joined Everton from Crystal Palace for £25million last summer, will be available for first team duty but the early signs are that it could be the beginning of 2018 before he is ready to play again.
