Elizabeth Banks was spotted on Friday heading through LAX, hauling along her favorite white AWAY Luggage  and a camouflage backpack.

The 43-year-old cut a chic figure, having bundled her blonde hair upward beneath a grey pageboy cap that shadowed her purple aviator sunglasses.

She'd slipped into a fitted black overcoat, which matched a pair of L’Agence black skinny jeans.

Her flowing pale pink sweater flung in a dash of contrast, and she'd completed her ensemble by way of a pair of black leather boots.

This month will see the release of Power Rangers, a reboot of the franchise that began with the TV series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993.

Amid a cast that includes Bryan Cranston and Bill Hader, Banks plays the villainous Rita Repulsa, who was introduced in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers pilot.

Blastr ran an interview with Banks earlier this month in which she dished about the tonal concerns that went into forming her character for the film.

'With this movie they wanted to update and evolve the franchise. The teenagers in the movie are definitely coming of age,' she said.

'They are very modern and dealing with modern problems. So the filmmakers wanted a Rita who felt modern, edgy and, for lack of a better word, "with it" when it came to tone,' she continued.

As she described the feel of the new film: 'There are very real stakes but a sense of play because that's what people loved from the original series.'

She also mentioned that 'There's an element of humor to her so she's very unpredictable. She feels very dangerous but it's all about this unpredictability and wry sense of humor that I think they hoped I would bring to it, and hopefully I did.'

Power Rangers will be released in British cinemas on March 23, before releasing in American movie theaters the following day.
