On Saturday night Madonna had fun getting in touch with her spiritual side.

The 58-year-old hitmaker posted a cheeky picture of herself to Instagram where she was posing with French photographer JR, who had on head-to-toe Pope apparel.

The Vogue singer's outfit was equally over-the-top, with the pop star dressed in an elegant ball gown and holding a pink rose, which she wore while celebrating the Jewish holiday of Purim with friends.

The Papa Don't Preach singer captioned the photo 'Sometimes you just have to take off the mask and confess!' while tagging her friend JR, who was the one wearing the Pope costume.

In the pic, the music legend was donning a yellow dress that seemed reminiscent of Belle's ball gown from Beauty And The Beast.

The ensemble's elegance was further complimented with a pair of elbow length gloves and costume-y jeweled brooch, which the mother-of-four wore with poise.

Another pic offered a further glimpse at Madge's outfit, which was complete with a fluffy petticoat white tights and embellished shoes.

The star's captions revealed that the MDNA artist was dressed up to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Purim, which commemorates the rescue of the Jewish people with a celebration full of masquerades, music and plenty of food and drink.

The 4 Minutes singer, who was raised Catholic, has been a devout follower of the school of Jewish mysticism called Kabbalah for over 15 years.

She was introduced to the practice by her friend Sandra Bernhard in the early 1997.

When asked about her spiritual beliefs by Rolling Stone in 2015, the entertainer explained, 'I connect to different ritualistic aspects of different belief systems, and I see the connecting thread between all religious beliefs,' but that she has 'not converted to Judaism.'
