'He ended up cheating on me': The Biggest Loser contestant reveals the heartbreaking story behind huge weight gain

It's the show that promises to turn the lives of ordinary Australians around.

Amy weighed 106 kilos when she began the series and hoped to get down to her goal weight of 75 kilos with the help of the show's trainers Libby Babet and Shannan Ponton.

'I went through a really bad breakup and threw on a heap of weight, and I moved which I used as an excuse too,' she told the publication.

'He ended up cheating on me, which I think is why it affected me in such a big way.'

The North Sydney business management advisor had previously kept fit by playing recreational soccer for 15 years, however, had fallen into a habit of eating out and drinking after her heartbreak.

Since her time on the show, Amy revealed her undisclosed weight loss had helped her find romance.

'I'm currently dating one person, that's going quite well,' she said.

This year's season of The Biggest Loser looks to be a departure from previous seasons, focusing on overweight Australians making healthy lifestyle changes rather than the morbidly obese shedding kilos.
