Cate Blanchett is chic in all black as she prepares to star in her husband Andrew Upton's Broadway production
On Monday, the ever-fashionable Cate Blanchett was spotted looking elegant as ever in an all-black outfit while out in New York City.
The 47-year-old Oscar winner was accompanied by her driver, who lent the star a hand by carrying some garment bags as she rushed into a nearby building.
The actress will appear in her husband's Broadway production The Present, in which she stars alongside Richard Roxburgh and Andrew Buchanan, on Tuesday night.

The Carol star rocked a black trench coat with gold buttons over an all-black outfit, with a top that featured a high turtleneck to hide the actress from the freezing NYC weather.
She completed the look by donning heavy black boots with silver hardware, prepared for approaching Storm Stella.
Her blonde shoulder-length hair was styled into loose ringlets, and she wore her favorite pink-rimmed Gucci aviator sunglass-seeing glass hybrids.

Cate and her family moved to New York from Los Angeles, after previously living in East Sussex, England and Sydney, Australia, so that she would be able to work on the star-studded, all-female Ocean's Eight, coming out in 2018.
The long-time thespian is currently starring in her playwright husband Andrew Upton's Broadway production, The Present, which opened in January of this year and will run until March 19.
The political play by Anton Chekov, originally set in 1880's Russia, was updated by Andrew to the nineties in Russia, when Vladamir Putin is coming to power.

Cate said of the change: '[It] feels particularly relevant to what's going on int he country at the moment.'
Though Storm Stella put the state of New York under a state of emergency, the production's website says the show will go on as planned.
The busy mother-of-four got to transform her delightful, sunny composition into something much more dark as she stepped into the role of Hela, the Goddess of Death, for the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok.
