They have teased fans for weeks with rumours of romance as they were filmed partying together on Snapchat and posed for intimate pictures at the BRIT awards.

But now TOWIE's Chris Clark and Lil Mix's Jesy Nelson have made their relationship official in the most modern way possible: with an Instagram comment and string of heart emojis.

It was Chris who made the first move when he reacted to Jesy's picture of herself clutching a Nikelodeon award on the social media site.

The 22-year-old reality star couldn't help but express his pride by commenting: 'My girl'.

He punctuated his comment with three smitten emojis: a smiley face icon with hearts for eyes, a red heart and a clapping hand image.

The 25-year-old singer from Romford reciprocated by adding three scarlet heart emojis and tagging her new beau.

The romance confirmation comes after Jesy recently dodged a question about her rumoured beau.

She seemingly confirmed she was seeing someone new by revealing she 'wasn't ready' to talk about her romantic life in a newly surfaced video on Twitter.

She was left red-faced as the interviewer asked her about her relationship status, to which she awkwardly responded: 'Not ready for that yet!'

But Chris did nothing to quieten those whispers after liking one of the singer's snaps on Instagram.

He clearly liked what he saw in the photograph, which showed Jesy in a plunging lace-up maxi dress at Nickelodeon's Kid Choice Awards on Saturday.

The Essex-born stunner also swooned over one of Chris's Instagram posts, similarly commenting with a heart emoji.

She has been heavily linked to reality star Chris, following a host of cosy looking social media videos and posts.

The twosome sent tongues wagging over their relationship status in an Instagram snap at the end of last month which saw them arm-in-arm at an after party, beaming widely at the camera.

Fuelling further rumours of a romance between the pair, the reality star sent fans wild by captioning the shot affectionately: 'I don't want this girl to go back America tomorrow!'

It was reported earlier this month that Jesy and the ITVBe star had embarked on a fling - less than two months after her split from fiancé Jake Roche.

The singer was seen showing off her best dance moves with the 22-year-old in a series of Snapchat videos, posted by Jesy's friend Sam King during a night out.

The pair also started following each other on Instagram last month, sparking rumours of a connection between them.

The relationship proves Jesy is finally moving on after splitting from Jake, the lead singer of pop band Rixton.

The declaration comes after Jesy has been heavily linked to reality star Chris, following a host of cosy looking social media videos and posts

The singer had spoken to radio station Z100 about the 'awful' break-up process soon after the split, admitting: 'When you break up with someone, it's awful. Is it not one of the worst pains? It's horrendous and we all need a sad song that you sit and cry to.

'At the end of the day, though, you need something that makes you feel empowered ... that makes you think, "You know what I don't need you anymore. I'm going to go out with my girls and I'm going to get over you because I don't need you."'
