And Tuesday evening proved to be no exception for Cara Santana as she enjoyed a date night with her fiancé Jesse Metcalfe, 38, at Catch in West Hollywood, LA where she pulled out all the stops for her handsome beau.

The 32-year-old blogger and beauty guru made sure she was dressed to impress as she stepped out in a sultry form-fitting dress, under which she went braless - and teamed it with racy lace up boots.

Gripping a bronze velvet clutch bag, designed by Yves Saint Laurent, in one hand, that added a pop of colour to her glittery ensemble, Cara toted her essentials for her dinner date and gave onlookers a glimpse at her beautiful engagement ring.

She sleekly styled her short dark-hued tresses by pinning parts behind her ears in order to flaunt her diamond stud earrings.

The actress opted for natural make-up and added a slick of lipgloss across her lips to finish off her flirty yet chic look - perfect for a glamorous night out with her dashing beau.

Her husband-to-be, who soared to fame playing John Rowland on Desperate Housewives, cut a dapper figure in an all-black outfit with a patterned shirt and straight leg black jeans.

As he and Cara headed home, the star affectionately placed a hand on his partner's shoulder, as she flashed a smile for waiting photographers.

The loved-up couple had confirmed they are set to wed in August last year. Jesse popped the question to his long-term girlfriend aboard a 50-foot sailboat as they cruised the Hudson river in New York.

The whole evening was meticulously planned for the surprise proposal, right down to having their song - Eric Clapton's Pretty Girl - play in the background as they watched the sunset.

Speaking about their engagement to Us Weekly, Jesse said: 'It's been a long time coming, but we couldn't be happier.'

But despite being madly in love, he later revealed that he isn't planning on tying the knot with Cara for another two years.

Jesse told Entertainment Tonight: 'We kind of set the date of September 2018. We're locking down a venue right now. It's gonna be on the East Coast, and that's all I can tell you!'He and Cara have been dating since 2008, with a brief break in 2011 before reuniting.
