She may be best known for being George Clooney's ex-girlfriend but this beauty can add swimsuit muse to her list of job titles.

Elisabetta Canalis proved the tiniest bikini is not always the sexiest thing you can wear to go for a dip.

The 38-year-old Italian posed up in a series of sexy one pieces high in the Hollywood Hills on Sunday.

Italian model Elisabetta Canalis has teamed up with Mobo to create the Mobo Swim X Elisabetta Canalis collection that was inspired and born on the sands of the Bahamas, which is probably why the collection is so bright and tropical.

Elisabetta showed off her just released collaboration with Mobo Swim in a poolside shoot at the famed Sheats Goldstein Residence.

The hillside home with its sweeping views proved the perfect backdrop for the Mobo Swim X Elisabetta Canalis range.

But as beautiful as the view was, the former girlfriend of Mr. Clooney stole the show.

The actress wore a long sleeved suit from her collection that while covered, was far from conservative.

The mom of one - 18-month-old Skyler - popped on a two piece version of the tropical print long sleeve swimsuit and jumped in the home's striking angular pool.

Elisabetta then made a quick change to another classically cut one piece and bravely posed up on the edge of the roof.

The star worked with the swimsuit label to create a range which was both sexy and practical for a long day at the beach - especially if you have a baby in tow.

Elisabetta and her daughter Skyler - whom she shares with husband Brian Perri  - can coordinate too, as the star also designed a range of mini girl swimsuits.

For the shoot, Elisabetta wore her hair in beachy waves and kept her look natural using Kiko Milano makeup.

The Italian TV presenter recently spoke of her joy in hearing her ex was set to be a dad with wife Amal.

Speaking to Italian magazine Chi, she said: 'I'm happy [for him], really happy. This news brought me joy.

'When someone wants to have a baby and that actually happens, it's a gift. I wish him the best.' 

Elisabetta and dated George for two years until they split in June 2011.
