She is the granddaughter of Grace Kelly and the daughter of Prince Albert II of Monaco.

But 25-year-old Jazmin Grace Grimaldi - who was born in Palm Springs, California - has a very different life to the European royals.

The singer and actress enjoyed a sunny afternoon in West Hollywood with boyfriend Ian Mellencamp.

The pretty blonde wore black skinny jeans and a tank top along with floral blazer and cat-eye sunglasses.

The duo put on a loved-up display as they indulged in an ice cream treat on Wednesday.

Musician Ian - who is the nephew of singer John Mellencamp - was clad in all black with half his long locks pulled up in a side bun.

Jazmin is the eldest daughter of Prince Albert, 59, from his brief relationship with Californian Tamara Rotolo in 1991.

Albert spotted the pretty former waitress with her girlfriends at a tennis tournament and invited her to a party while she was on vacation on the Côte d'Azur.

The couple stayed in touch on her return to the U.S. when she learned of the pregnancy but the Prince then cut off contact when she gave birth.

Rotolo managed to force the paternity issue in 1993 when the Prince visited Cody, Wyoming, and she confronted him with their 17-month-old daughter.

Albert, who also has 10-year-old son Alexandre Coste out of wedlock, eventually confirmed he was Jazmin’s father on June 1 2006 when she was 14, but said he had wanted to protect her identity until she was an adult.

Famously, she is also the granddaughter of Grace Kelly, the Hollywood icon and fashion muse-turned royal wife to Prince Ranier, who was tragically killed in a car crash aged 52.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar in 2015 Jazmin said that although she didn't get a chance to be close to her grandmother, she felt a special connection to the screen icon while watching her in High Society, the 1956 musical in which she starred in with Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra.

'It was the first time I realized we had a connection. I'm passionate about acting, singing, and dancing,' adds Jazmin. 'I saw that in her in this movie. It was a real goosebumps moment for me.’

While Jazmin's film star grandmother was American, her father Albert and his sisters Caroline and Stephanie were raised in Monaco, as were Jazmin's cousins.

Jazmin regularly visits the Prince's Palace of Monaco, her family's 235-room historic fortress on the French Riviera.

Albert is now married to Charlene Wittstock and they have two children together, one-year-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.
