President Donald Trump had his chilliest summit yet with a foreign leader as he met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel today for the first time. Talks began with a warm welcome outside the West Wing but turned cold as Trump and Merkel disagreed publicly on almost every major international issue. Trump opened up a joint news conference with a slap at Merkel over her open-door refugee policy. Declaring that 'immigration is a privilege, not a right,' Trump said his first priority is to keep the country safe. He also pushed for her country to live up to its NATO commitment, stressing the 'need for our NATO allies to pay their fair share' for defense. Merkel told him it has always been her belief that it is better to 'talk to one another and not about one another' - a reference to the many disparaging statements Trump made on the campaign trail about her leadership. As the press conference came to a close, Trump told Merkel that they have 'something in common, perhaps.' They were both wiretapped by the previous administration, he implied.

Hillary Clinton said Friday she's 'ready to come out of the woods' and help Americans find common ground in a St Patrick's Day speech in her late father's Pennsylvania hometown of Scranton. The speech was just a few hours after she took to Twitter to make fun of the Trump administration's first few months in office. She quoted a tweet written by her former adviser Philippe Reines, who sarcastically pointed out what is obvious to many seasoned politicians- 'Russians spy. Health Care is complicated. Diplomacy is exhausting. Who knew?'

President Trump's campaign manager said she spoke with Clinton's team the night before and agreed on the right time to concede. Within 15 minutes of the AP calling the race for Mr Trump, she says she received a call from Clinton's aide Huma Abedin. Conway, now a White House advisor, called the moment 'remarkable'.

Ivanka Trump decided to try something new, opting for minimal make-up and a half-up/half-down coif (left with Merkel) that was the perfect blend of volume up top and bouncy curls below. Ivanka (top right in SUV, glam squad bototm right) also went with a very conservative look for the meeting, choosing a dark blue dress that had long sleeves and a turtleneck. She livened up the dress a bit by pinning a giant US flag over her heart, while also wearing a pair of starfish stud earrings from Tiffany & Co. just days after the news broke that her company would be ending the production of her fine jewelry collection.

In an embarrassing series of videos, the 'worse for wear' 34-year-old is seen letting loose with some 'dad dancing' while partying with friends at Farinet nightclub in Switzerland.

'I love you' were among the haunting last words spoken by a woman to her boyfriend while he attacked her with a machete. During Carlos Hernandez-Ventura's trial yesterday, Iowa State Patrol Sgt. David Saldivar told the court that that phrase was among the final words spoken by victim Lourdes Flor De Leake to her boyfriend, Hernandez-Ventura, as he struck her with a machete last October. Saldivar was in the Adel, Iowa courtroom testifying about what Hernandez-Ventura, 25, said during an emergency room interview after he'd surrendered to Illinois police.

New Orleans architect Gerard Billes, 70, and his wife Carmen Midence, 41, were arrested on December 8 on suspicion of harassing an ex-girlfriend of Billes, but prosecutors have not yet filed charges against the pair, a Friday report revealed. The married couple are accused of sending two nude photos of Billes' ex-girlfriend to her friends. Prosecutors have until a May 7 court date to decide whether to accept the charges, which Midence calls the 'exaggerated' lies of 'a jilted ex.'

The former Secretary of State was photographed as she made her way to a waiting car after a day spent at the John Barrett Salon, showing off the results of her new $600 haircut and $600 dye job. It was a softer and lighter look for Hillary, who likely never saw herself spending a Thursday afternoon inside a Fifth Avenue department store across the street from Trump Tower back in October. Huma on the other hand seems to have tagged along for work purposes, with photos showing that Hillary's longtime aide did not have anything done to her beautiful tresses on Thursday.

A gunman who allegedly tried to rob four people in restaurant parking lot accidentally shot himself in the head as he tried to get away, police said. The suspected gunman was run down by one of his victims, causing him to unwittingly shoot himself in the head. Surveillance footage captured the whole inicident, which happened at around 3am on Wednesday in a parking lot outside a Denny's restaurant in Hawthorne, California.

Hell hath no fury...and Amy Walling (right), 43, a Florida police sergeant who conducted a secret affair with fellow cop Sgt. Jason Vansteenburgh (left) couldn't stand him marrying someone else. She was fired Thursday after surrendering to her department's brass a graphic homemade video of her and Vansteenburgh having sex while he was on duty. Walling also provided Internal Affairs with a selfie texted to her by Vansteenburgh where he poses in his full SWAT police uniform and bullet-proof vest - with his semi-erect penis sticking out of his pants. Not to be out-done, Vansteenburgh also showed them a photo Walling sent him, where she's wearing a police department uniform with her breasts sticking out of the shirt. Vansteenburgh has also been fired.

Tommy Schaefer and then-girlfriend Heather Mack were imprisoned after killing Mack's mother in an upmarket Bali hotel in August 2014 for inheritance mone and putting her dead body in a suitcase. Since the murder, Mack has given birth and has been raising her now two-year-old daughter Stella in prison with her. But on Friday, Stella was taken to live with an Australian couple. Schaefer has written an emotional poem at his daughter's removal from the jail, saying: 'Everyone keeps saying that you'll understand when your older/And your mother when she's sober.'

As Angelina Jolie's humanitarian efforts continue, the actress and UNHCR special envoy met with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, on Thursday. The 41-year-old screen star sat down with the leading church of England figure in London to discuss sexual violence in conflict, the refugee crisis, South Sudan. After the meeting, the archbishop took tweeted snapshots of his time with the star, alongside the caption: 'Privilege to welcome UNHCR Special Envoy Angelina Jolie. Two brazen young men have been filmed intentionally jumping into a shark tank - then scrambling for their lives as the sharks approach them. The pool containing at least four sharks at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas has been a hot spot for adventure seeking spring breakers. Two videos were posted to the popular site for tomfoolery Total Frat Move of separate incidents at the same resort - where one man shouts 'f**k it' as he risks his life to swim with the sharks.

Brooke L. Laginess, 38, has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy. The married Lima Township, Michigan mother is currently free after posting a $50,000 cash bond. The investigation into Laginess started in February, after the victim's mother reported her to police.

In 1936, Guinness asked illustrator John Gilroy to draw up a campaign for Nazi Germany, which featured its signature toucan alongside Swastikas and Zeppelins (pictured). The pictures are all from original oil paintings, which would have been used to mass produce posters, but the campaign never launched. The canvasses disappeared when the advertising agency was sold, but resurfaced in 2009 and feature in a new book by former brewer David Hughes.

Police arrested a man who allegedly beat a 37-year-old with multiple sclerosis after he offered to help pay for his attackers' meal. Kariem Roberts, 21, turned himself in on Thursday and was charged with robbery, gang assault and menacing in connection to the March 1 attack that left Joseph Molohon (inset), in Brooklyn, New York with a fractured nose. Molohon offered to use the social security money he had just picked up to help two men at the Texas Chicken & Burgers in Flatbush, Brooklyn, when they were short of cash. But an argument broke out, and Molohon was punched, kicked, and struck with his own cane by a group of four before another man rifled through his pockets while he was lying on the ground.

This is the horrific moment villagers cut open a crocodile and found the remains of an eight-year-old boy inside the beast. The shocking scene was captured by an eyewitness with a smartphone in the village of Mushumbi Pools in northern Zimbabwe's Mashonaland Central Province. Villagers suspected the crocodile had killed and eaten the young boy, and shot the animal dead. When they cut open the huge beast's stomach, their worst fears were confirmed.

Isabella Villegas, 18, was furious when her 13-year-old sister Grace told her that she had received negative comments from teachers about her new off-the-shoulder shirt, pictured left, and made her a customized T-shirt, pictured right, criticizing the school dress code which she accused of 'objectifying' young girls.

A McDonald's employee brutally beat up a customer who had 'disrespected' him in one of the chain's restaurants. The beating lasted for almost 45 seconds and was caught on camera. Although it is not clear what triggered the attack, the punches came thick and fast giving the victim no time to recover or fight back. Pleas from other workers to take the fight outside are ignored as the beating continued.

These shocking pictures reveal the sheer magnitude of a giant wall of ice (centre) that collapsed in Austria, engulfing a group of skiers and leaving two men dead. The deadly avalanche hit five people who had been skiing in an off-piste area near St Anton in Austria's western region of Tyrol on Friday. The tracks of the skiers could be seen weaving down the slope, before the group were submerged in the massive pack of ice that broke off the side of the mountain. The two men were found dead, but their gender and nationalities have not yet been established, a police spokesman said. Members of the mountain rescue emergency service (left) could be seen scouring the area for survivors after the avalanche.

Frightening footage captures the moment a 'ghost' appears to drag a boy to the floor in his own home. Indoor cameras show a set of doors bursting open and the boy thrown to the ground. The footage has frightened many viewers though many more have called the video a poor hoax. Viewers have suggested his theatrical fall gave the game away while others point to the boy being 'dragged' away out of camera sight. KHalliday commented on YouTube: 'It is a hoax, a set up, because it's the same guy who is in the next video...a guy walking in a mall 'attack!.

The hilarious pictures capture some of the worst kitchen disasters from across the UK, from an exploding mug cake to a pasta bake burnt to a crisp. One was taken by a woman saw her casserole dish crack in the oven as she tried to treat her husband to a Valentine's Day meal. Another was snapped by a mother who was left with some very runny fondant slices after she tried to bake a cake for her son's fifth birthday.

Acapella group Vocal Point, based out of the Mormon-led Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, released the video earlier this week, and it has already been viewed more than 330,850 times. The group's nine male members collaborated with 14-year-old YouTube sensation Lexi Walker (all are pictured left) as Belle (upper right). Their clip includes some of the 1991 animated movie's best-known songs, such as Belle and Be Our Guest, and culminates with a rendition of the iconic ball scene (bottom right). Viewers have been raving about the medley, pleading the group to make it available on various platforms so as to be able to listen to it on repeat.
