  • Avid racing fan has attended the festival every day this week

She has a lifelong association with horses and rode in the 2012 Olympics so it's no wonder that racing season appears to be Zara Tindall's favourite time of year.

The mother-of-one, 35, today saved her most glamorous outfit for last as she attended Cheltenham, looking elegant in a blue coat and black dress.

She teamed the outfit with a £465 velour black felt hat trimmed with royal blue guinea fowl feathers by Rosie Olivia.

The royal looked to be in cheerful form as she paused on her way into the Gloucester grounds to pose for a photo with a fan.

Zara, who is 16th-in-line to the throne, returned to the racecourse today for the fourth day in a row to partake in a day of show jumping, cross country riding and dressage.

Yesterday she was seen enjoying exuberant celebrations with her husband Mike and friends, including Dolly Maude.

Her mother Princess Anne was also in attendance, although the pair were not seen socialising together.

The royal, who recently competed at the Tweseldown Horse Trials in Hampshire, is a keen equestrian who competed in the London 2012 Olympic Games.

She is a serious international equestrian competitor, having garnered a gold medal at the European Eventing Championships in 2005 in addition to attaining a silver medal at the World Equestrian Games in 2006.
