A six-year-old boy, who loves to dress up as a Queen's Guard, was delighted to receive a reply from Buckingham Palace after writing a letter to the Queen.
George Mearing, from Basingstoke, Hampshire, sent a letter to 'Your Majesty the Queen' saying how much he liked dressing up as a soldier and wanted to be part of the Royal Guard when he grew up.
He included photos of him in the traditional red and black uniform.

The note George sent to the Queen said how he likes dressing up as soldiers
In his hand-written note he wrote: 'I have been learning about you and your family and your soldiers.
'Me and my mummy have been to Windsor Castle lots. I like dressing up as a soldier.
'It would make me very happy to have a letter from you.'
Young George first became interested in the Royal family when he saw the Trooping of the Colour ceremony on television at the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations last year.
And his family were stunned when the infant school pupil received a royal reply from the Queen's lady-in-waiting.

The letter also contained leaflets and information of the guards and their manoeuvres - including the changing of the guard
His mother Helen, 34, said: 'I saw the envelope and the paper and immediately knew who it was from.
'I left it there for him to find and his face lit up when he saw he's received a reply as he's such a fan of the Royal family.
'I didn't really expect George to get a reply but it was a really nice surprise for him to actually get a personalised reply from the Queen's lady-in-waiting with the royal seal.'

The reply from Buckingham Palace said that while the Queen was sorry she couldn't reply personally but she was pleased to hear George was enjoying learning about the Royal Guards and the Royal family.
The letter also contained leaflets and information of the guards and their manoeuvres - including the changing of the guard.
George, who has visited Windsor Castle several times, said he would one day like to meet some of the Royal family after hearing about Prince William's visit to his hometown last October.
He added he was jealous after seeing a video his grandmother, who works at the hospital, took of the visit.
