Handsome Zayn Malik showed off his rugged good looks as he follows in girlfriend Gigi Hadid's footsteps to pose for a brooding fashion shoot

The former One Direction star appears in the The Sunday Times supplement, Style magazine, which is out this weekend.

The 24-year-old, who has been dating striking model Gigi Hadid for more than a year after a break-up with Little Mix's Perrie Edwards, was dubbed the King of Fashion.

The Pillow Talk hit-maker pulled off a rugged sexy look as he pulled his chocolate shade tresses into a stylish top knot.

The short sleeved shirt showed off the singer's distinctive tattoo sleeves.

And the red and black chequered number was unbuttoned just enough to give his fans a sneak peek at his broad chest and quirky ram skull tattoo.

Most of the impressive shoot is made up of black and white shots which create the 'perfect' image of Zayn.

His relationship with Vogue cover girl Gigi has introduced Zayn to the glamorous world of high fashion.

He accompanied the beautiful supermodel to Paris Fashion Week recently and was every inch the devoted boyfriend as he sat on the front row supporting his beau as she stormed the Balmain catwalk.

And Gigi is clearly in no doubt of her pop star lover's style credentials as she made him her muse for a new Versus by Versace campaign.

Gigi, who has 31.2 million Instagram followers, decided to stay behind the camera as she lovingly photographed her handsome boyfriend.

Zayn looked ultra sultry in the images, lounging on a bed at the iconic Hollywood Chateau Marmont hotel with a leather jacket unbuttoned to show off his toned and inked chest.

The pop star was clearly a fan of his girlfriend's photography skills.

'It was sick to work with Versus,' he said. 'Donatella is a G. It was extra special that Gigi shot the campaign. Looking forward to following up with my Versus collection that drops in June.'

The celebrated designer was equally complimentary about her young muse, adding: 'The Versus campaign captures everything that is special about Zayn, Gigi and Adwoa.

'They are young people who define the mood of their generation with their honesty, energy and their love.'

Filmed by Gigi using iPhones and digital cameras, the campaign images will feature individually on social media and collectively in print.
