One's a serious English actress, the other is an edgy musician, but despite their differences, Rosamund Pike and Charli XCX both opted for classic looks for the Max Mara x Flaunt Dinner party in LA on Friday.

After arriving with an elegant white coat draped over her shoulders, Rosamund soon dropped her outerwear to reveal a strapless black jumpsuit and strappy black stilettos.

The Gone Girl star seemed relaxed as she posed for the cameras, her shoulder-length blonde hair sitting loose in soft waves.

Once inside the event, the 38-year-old was seen chatting to celebrity photographer David LaChapelle, 54, who kept things casual in a plaid jacket, dark grey T-shirt, light grey baseball cap and thick-rimmed glasses.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Boom Clap singer also opted for classic clothing in a figure-hugging olive green dress.

She funked up her look though with chunky platform sandals, and wore her long dark hair in two braids.

Also at the event was singer Justine Skye, 21, who looked stunning in an all-white ensemble.

The U Don't Know singer opted for white pants and a matching white sleeveless wrap shirt, which was belted at the waist.

Other attendees included singer Niia, 28, who was on-trend in a floral jumpsuit, and model and actress Emily Ruhl, 21, who went for a daring look in black shorts, a black bra top, and an animal-print blazer.

Like Rosamund, actress Lindsey Kraft, 37, also opted for a monochrome look, posing in between the Jack Reacher actress and Joely Richardson, 52, who was dressed in all black.

Also in attendance was 17-year-old video blogger, Amanda Steele, who looked mature in a long white pencil skirt and striped blue and black sweater.
