Make a style statement like Rihanna wearing Maison Margiela
Never one to shy away from a bold look, Rihanna cut a fashion-forward figure as she stepped out in NYC.
The singer teamed a blue hoodie with crop pants by Maison Margiela and a white fur coat, before finishing off with pink satin over-the-knee sock booties.
We've spotted Rihanna rocking these crop trews before, which give a huge nod to the 90s look thanks to the popper buttons. Any 90s kids will remember how popular Adidas popper joggers were back in the day!
We love this high fashion take on the trend and if you want to make a style statement like the singer too, then click right to buy them at Barneys.
Or why not give a subtle nod to this ensemble by rocking a pair of blue culottes instead. There's some great styles in our edit below from PrettyLittleThing, DVF, ASOS and Very that are ideal for the summer season!
Giving her outfit the superstar edge, Rihanna covered up against the East Coast chill with a fluffy ivory belted trench which she wore casually undone.
Proving any surface is a runway, she teetered on vertiginous raspberry-hued thigh-high boots as she negotiated the bumpy road surface.
Her ebony tresses were worn in a tousled natural style while her sparking eyes were enhanced with a sweep of mascara and dark kohl teamed with a nude glossy lip.
She hid her eyes behind mauve tinted shades with the slightest hint of her intricate tattoos visible on her pink manicured hands.

Rihanna is currently prepping her upcoming turn on new TV series Bates Motel where she stars in the iconic role made famous by Janet Leigh in the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho.
And new promo shots for the TV series Bates Motel - loosely based on the film - show she immersed in the role of Norman Bates's most famous victim Marion Crane.
One picture features the singer drenched in rain as she arrives to meet her fate at the motel, its sign illuminated in the dark evening.

Another snapshot shows the star in a smart suit and wig while opening a suitcase of cash while another sees her encountering the creepy Norman played by Freddie Highmore.
Rihanna appears in a multi-episode arc, making her debut later this month.
The A&E synopsis for her first episode reads: 'Norman tries to piece together Mother's movements. In Seattle, Dylan and Emma confront an ugly truth; Sam's girlfriend, Marion, makes an impulsive decision with far-reaching consequences.'

Another shot features Rihanna arriving at the Bates Motel inside her car in the pouring rain.
Sporting a blue velvet hooded cardigan and low cut black top, she shows off her flawless skin in the dim light, with glossy lipstick and dark eyeliner completing the look.
According to executive producer Kerry Ehrin, Hitchcock's plot with Crane stealing money from her boss to run away with her boyfriend Sam Loomis (now played by Austin Nichols) will be followed; however their story will be much fleshed-out during the multi-episode arc.

'We’re taking threads of that story and definitely using them so it’s recognizable, it’s just where we go with it is very different,' she told Entertainment Weekly.
'It’s tough to be in a situation where you’re in love with a guy, and for whatever reason, he keeps stalling. You still have all this hot sex with him, and he’s saying he loves you, but he’s stalling.
'The internal story of that, for a woman, is a really interesting one. We never really got to see that.

'In Psycho, you just see the outside of that more. It was trying to do a story about a contemporary woman with some edge, with some expectations, who isn’t perfect, who isn’t always perfectly sweet, who is in that situation, but we’re rooting for her to get what she wants.'
The fifth and final season of the A&E drama takes place after the death of Norman's mother Norma, after his attempts to commit murder-suicide via carbon monoxide poisoning only succeeded in killing her.
The all-new episodes of Bates Motel, which premiered in the US on February 20 on A&E, are set to being airing on the UK's Universal Channel on April 11.
