Unpaid Ivanka is getting thrifty! Trump recycles $113 pre-worn dress, and opts for cheaper pieces from her own range over high-priced designs, after taking on controversial new government role

Unlike Kate Middleton and Michelle Obama, who've been lauded for recycling and reworking items in their wardrobes, Ivanka Trump isn't known to wear anything twice.

The First Daughter has been caught on camera nearly every day since her father began running for office — first by paparazzi in New York, and now by press cameras in Washington, D.C. — and has worn a new dress in almost every single picture. That is, until yesterday.

Just a day after it was announced that the 35-year-old would be taking an official unpaid position in Donald Trump's White House, she turned up to a party in New York City wearing a familiar-looking purple pleated design.

Ivanka first wore the frock in question, a $113 find from Oasis, on January 6, shortly before moving to D.C.

She was spotted in the girly number as she left her Park Avenue apartment and went to work, at the time teaming it with gray suede pumps, a silver envelope clutch, and oversize stud earrings.

This Thursday, March 30, she wore the dress again to attend a party being held at the $12 million Fifth Avenue apartment of Jared Kushner's parents Charles and Sery. This time, she accessorized with strappy metallic sandals and a blue envelope clutch, leaving the jewelry at home.

It is incredibly rare for Ivanka to be seen wearing the same thing twice. Before her father became President, she would be seen nearly every day leaving her apartment in a different selection from her own Ivanka Trump collection.

Besides picking a new dress or skirt each day, it was unlikely to even catch her re-wearing the same coat — though she did wear the same tan, belted one once in November 2015 and again on January 17 of this year.

Interestingly, she hasn't been as much of a walking billboard for the collection since the start of the year, when it was announced that she was stepping down from her fashion label.

She's only worn the eponymous line once, picking a a $168 floral dress while leaving her D.C. home on Wednesday.

Yet, she has still worn something new every day, now of the designer variety. The mother-of-three has been spotted in Oscar de la Renta, Altazurra, Carolina Herrera, and Roland Mouret, among other expensive, high-fashion brands.

On Wednesday, however, it was announced that she would be graduating from an unofficial advisory role in her father's White House to an official one, which happens to be unpaid.

'I have heard the concerns some have with my advising the President in my personal capacity while voluntarily complying with all ethics rules, and I will instead serve as an unpaid employee in the White House Office, subject to all of the same rules as other federal employees,' she said in a statement.

'Throughout this process I have been working closely and in good faith with the White House counsel and my personal counsel to address the unprecedented nature of my role.'

Facing a job without a paycheck, Ivanka — for one of the first times in her public life — decided to re-wear a dress she wore just months before.

Her husband Jared Kushner, 36, also holds an unpaid position in the White House. On the campaign trail, her father promised that he wouldn't take pay as the President, though there has been no indication since his swearing-in that he followed through.
