'It's bittersweet, beautiful and heartbreaking': Lauren Cohan reflects on The Walking Dead season seven finale... as she smoulders in new shoot for Harper's Bazaar

The inherent brutalities that surround her perilous journey through a post-apocalyptic world are all too often underpinned with hope, humour and an overwhelming wish to survive.

And Lauren Cohan insists life will be no different for her long suffering character Maggie Greene as the seventh season of The Walking Dead prepares to sign off with a typically dramatic final episode.

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar, the 35-year old actress insists fans of the hugely popular AMC show will find themselves buckled into to the usual rollercoaster of twists and terrifying turns when it finally airs.

Dare to bare in Louis Vuitton like Lauren Cohan

Lauren Cohan looks a long way from her character on The Walking Dead in this shoot for Harper's Bazaar but she's clearly very at home posing up a storm for the camera.

The actress looks stunning in this piece from the Louis Vuitton SS17 collection and we're loving her defiant attitude. And what a dress this is. There's a lot going on but somehow it all comes together to create a real fashion moment.

The sheer panels show quite a lot of skin but Lauren's modesty is protected at all times thanks to the printed stretches of the skirt and the almost armour-like shoulder pads and breastplates.

Louis Vuitton isn't available to buy online but you can click (right) to find your nearest store if you'd like to shop the label's collection. Or recreate the look with our edit of sheer maxis below.

NBD has our top pick at Revolve. Style it with tough girl ankle boots to give it some edge.

‘You’re certainly in for a lot of emotion,’ she said. ‘[It’s] incredibly bittersweet, beautiful, and heart-breaking.’

Making her show debut in 2011,  battle hardened Maggie has endured her own fair share of emotional trauma having suffered the brutal deaths of father Hershel, younger sister Beth and husband Glenn.

But Lauren admits the demise of any key character, all too often the catalyst for on-screen mayhem, is a cause for celebration among the cast - who frequently throw farewell dinner parties for outgoing actors.

'It’s funny when I stop to think about calling them death dinners. It’s such a frequent part of our lingo that I forget how absurd it is, like spying on your own funeral,' she said.

'We’ve had some of our best nights together at them. There’s always a lot of tears, but we also have bonfires and play games and get to tell the family member leaving how much we love them—and, you know, completely embarrass them.'

Reflecting on the show while modelling for the publication,  Lauren looks radically different in a striking semi-sheer wrap dress that serves to accentuate her athletic physique.

Elsewhere smoky make-up and an effortlessly swept bouffant hair draw attention to her features as she offers the camera a smouldering glance.

Adresssing the rarely discussed role of feminism on the show, Lauren admits its key group of female characters are arguably stronger than their make counterparts - because they think first.

'These women are smart not to flaunt their strengths right away,' she said. 'They think, "While you were looking in the other direction, we were listening and learning.’ We pay attention and fortify ourselves."'

The Walking Dead season seven concludes in the United States on Sunday April 2 and in the United Kingdom on Monday April 3.
