Rebel Rebel! Evan Rachel Wood pays homage to her 'high priest' David Bowie in androgynous new glam shoot for Elle Canada

She pairs menswear with a short 'do and over-the-top glam makeup in her new photo shoot for Elle Canada.

So it's no surprise that Evan Rachel Wood actually took control of the playlist during the shoot, playing glam-rocker David Bowie, who she appeared to be challenging for the magazine.

'If I didn’t have music, I would die,' 29-year-old Evan told Elle Canada, agreeing that Bowie is her 'high priest.'

The singer/actress and her fiance Zach Villa are in a band called Rebel And A Basketcase, their name a nod to Bowie's iconic hit Rebel Rebel.

Villa was on location with Wood, but did not join in for the photos or interview.

The Westworld actress opened up about her three-year-old son, who's name she has not released, with ex-husband actor Jamie Bell.

'He’s a gypsy by proxy because his parents are. He’s only three now, but he’s starting to understand. He hears one of my songs and he knows that that’s me, and he has seen me on TV and he’s starting to put the pieces together,' she said of the tot.

Adding 'His parents are very different. My ex-husband is lovely and very British and straightedge, and then he’s got this glam-rock weirdo for a mom.'

On being a feminist, the outspoken star says, 'Some think that feminism is about hating men, and they hate you for that. I love men. I have a son—I actually want a world where we can all be equal and I’m not held back because of my gender.'

She adds, 'It’s not a movement against men! It sucks that the word ‘feminism’ is so tainted.'

In 2016, Evan revealed in a letter to Rolling Stone magazine, 'Yes, I have been raped.'

She shared that she had been raped on two separate occasions, once by a significant other and another time by the owner of a bar.

Speaking of the dark times, she told Elle Canada that playing her character Dolores on Westworld helped her come to terms with the traumatic experiences in her past.

'That was a catalyst in me opening up about my experiences. Playing her got me to face a lot. Life was imitating art,' she said of the role.

Actress Evan Rachel Wood posed up for next month’s edition of Elle Canada and she looked amazing in a range of androgynous, David Bowie inspired outfits.

The star rocked a a whole host of manly blazers, trousers and shirts in the pictures for the magazine including the cover shot.

We love all her looks but in particular, the Jil Sander blazer, shirt and shorts combo. The photo shoot's menswear theme is not a foreign one to the star, who recently wore a suit to the Golden Globe Awards as well as the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

'I just kind of wanted to surprise people and completely go the other route,' she said.

A tux was also her outfit of choice when she spoke about growing up bisexual at the Human Rights Campaign Gala in February 2017.
