Terrifying footage shows shoppers desperately trying to beat a pack of dangerous dogs away with metal chairs as they attacked people in the street.
One screams 'get them away' as the dogs rampage through Bolton's Queen's Park, before armed officers arrive and shoot the animals in the street.
Police confirmed that two of the dogs - described as pit bull terriers by witnesses - were killed, another two detained, but one remains on the loose.
A 60-year-old woman was injured when one of the dogs but her on the hand and another was bitten on the leg, police said.
A 38-year-old man was arrested for having a dog dangerously out of control in a public place and affray but has not yet been identified.

Witnesses told the Manchester Evening News that the man - believed to be the dogs' owner - was crying as he was taken away by police.
Dramatic footage shows onlookers watching from a bus, with one saying 'he's chasing that man' as the incident unfolded at around 10.20am yesterday.
Police are on the scene then a short, sharp, burst of gunfire can be heard from across the street where the police are standing.
Another onlooker recorded the drama unfold, posting shocking footage of the dead dog lying lifeless in the street moments after the gunfire is heard.
After the dogs were shot, shocked onlookers can be heard saying 'oh my god' over and over again as they realise what has unfolded before their eyes.
Witnesses said the dog owner who was arrested was sobbing as he was taken into a police vehicle
One witness said that the 38-year-old man, who has not been named by police, did not have all of his dogs on leads

Marya Mahmood, who works near where the incident occurred, said that the man didn't have all of his dogs on leads.
She told the Manchester Evening News: 'We saw two dogs that were not on leads and about four or five dogs on a lead being held by a man.
'The ones off the leads were chasing the police officers and they had to shoot them otherwise they were going to attack them.
'Were heard them shoot two dogs. They were quite big dogs that looked like pit bulls.
'The man who was arrested was crying because the dogs had died.'
Police said they arrived on scene after reports that six 'Pitbull type dogs were dangerously out of control' in the town centre.

It is believed that police officers are still searching for one injured dog following the shooting on Sunday

The number of dogs in the pack was unclear at first, with some witnesses suggesting up to eight dogs were running through the town.
But police later confirmed that there were five dogs present during the incident.
Greater Manchester Police said: 'Armed response officers were deployed to the scene and two dogs were humanely destroyed and two dogs have been seized.
'Officers are currently searching the area for another dog who is believed to be part of the group.'
Superintendent Chris Allsop said: 'Highly trained officers responded quickly to the scene and took control to avoid the situation from escalating.

Allsop urged people not to approach dogs they do not know, saying people should contact a nearby officer or call 101.
Four breeds are banned from being bred, owned or sold in the United Kingdom under the Dangerous Dogs Act: the pit bull terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino and Fila Brasiliero.
Anyone who sees a dog loose in the area is asked to tell police, while witnesses or those with information are urged to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
