Her halterneck sleeveless dress, textured with black and gold patterning to give it a faux snakeskin effect, was teamed with glittering silver shoes.

However, when the time rolled around for her to hit the stage for what would prove to be a victorious night, the former American Idol hopeful opted for another gown.

And Team JHud proved successful as, after months of stellar performances, battle rounds and public votes, Mo won the vote over Welsh duo The Ark.

While the show was disrupted by a stage invader and Tom Jones accidentally swearing on air, nothing could detract from the 21-year-old's joy.

Flabbergasted as the result was announced, Mo looked on in shock whilst his mentor Jennifer immediately burst into tears of happiness.

After his performance of Paolo Nutini's Iron Sky, Jennifer said: 'If that is not a representation of what The Voice is about then I don't know what is. It's timeless and it's not something that comes about all the time.'
