Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver stun as they match in flowy trousers for New York screening of The Assignment

It's already attracting criticism, but Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver were all smiles at a screening of their new movie The Assignment.

Michelle looked sexy in a sparkly off-the-shoulder top with subtle mesh paneling as she arrived at the screening at the Whitby Hotel in New York City on Monday.

The Furious 7 star wore the figure-hugging top tucked into a pair of high-waisted black pants.

She carried a small black clutch and wore her long raven-colored hair in loose waves.

The 38-year-old actress kept her makeup natural, and accessorized her look with a pair of diamond earrings.

Meanwhile, Sigourney looked elegant in a white blazer, cinched in at the waist with a black leather belt.

The 67-year-old actress wore a black satin camisole underneath and also opted for long black pants.

And the statuesque beauty looked even taller in a pair of closed-in black high heels.

She also wore dangly drop earrings, and wore her bobbed brown hair in loose curls.

The film is about a hitman named Frank Kitchen, who wakes up in the body of a woman after killing the brother of a deranged surgeon, who captures him and gives him gender reassignment surgery.

The movie drew criticism from the transgender community after the first trailer was released in September.

Critics claim The Assignment trivializes issues faced by the transgender community, while also sensationalizing the topic.

But Michelle - who plays Frank in the film - was quick to defend her latest project.

'I'm bisexual. I do guys. I do girls. You can't really argue with me because I'm you,' she told Reuters in September. 'So if I do a movie, I'd never do a movie with the intention of offending anybody in the LGBT community because I'm a part of it.'
