'Mostly naked' woman with webbed toes and wet hair who claims she is a MERMAID is found by cops in California

A 'mostly naked' woman with webbed feet who was found walking in a street in California has claimed she is a mermaid.

Fresno Police are seeking help in identifying the woman who was also found with wet hair and wearing just a sports bra. 

According to authorities she said her name was Joanna and answers 'I don't know' to most questions. 

Fresno Police Lt. Mark Hudson told YourCentralValley.com: 'She was wet, she said she had been in the lake, said she needed help and needed to be taken to the hospital.'

She was found walking in the middle of the street on Millerton Road' on the other side of the Eagle Spring Golf & Country Club.

He said: 'We did go through records after fingerprinting her and we still did not come up with her identity.'

She was discovered around 3.15am Tuesday morning, the station said.

Fresno Police said the woman is 16 - 30 years old. She has brown eyes, brown hair, is 5'4 and weighs 150lbs. Police say she has webbed toes on both of her feet.
